Who Is Responsible

Built and maintained by Tom Fenwick, an independent developer. I am not an NHS employee, a financial adviser or an accountant. What I do is build tools that turn official NHS Employers, NHSBSA, SPPA, HSC and HMRC data into something usable, and nothing here is advice.

Every figure traces back to a published source, and is updated when they update. Where a source does not say something, this site does not say it either: normal pension age went unstated for a day because I could not find the published page, and early retirement factors are still unstated for the same reason.

Where I get something wrong, I correct it and publish what was wrong, who it affected and how large the error was. The corrections log is the record, and most entries in it are my own mistakes rather than anyone else’s.

How This Site Is Funded

It isn't, currently. This is a personal project, it costs a few pounds a month to host, and nothing on it is sponsored. There are no adverts, no affiliate links and no sponsored placements.

If that changes, this page will say so before it does, and anything paid for will be labelled as such.

What This Site Will Never Do

• No advertising or affiliate links on any page that produces a figure.
• No accounts. Results are shared by link and saved to your own browser.
• No tracking of what you enter. Calculations happen in your browser; salary figures are never transmitted.
• No AI chat about your pay. The line-by-line explanation is deterministic and comes from the same code that produced the number.
• No pre-filled example salary. Showing a plausible figure before you have told us anything invites you to mistake our guess for your answer.
• No speculative award projections. Only confirmed awards, and announced-but-unconfirmed ones clearly labelled.
• No figures sourced from other calculators.
• No engagement mechanics. No pop-ups, exit intents, streaks or newsletter interruptions.

Editorial Standards

• Sources are named, not implied. Every figure links to the body that publishes it.
• Uncertainty is stated. Provisional figures are labelled everywhere they appear.
• Corrections are published.
• Competitors are never named. Where common errors are described, the error is described, not the site making it.
• Plain English. Payroll jargon is defined where it is used.
• No financial advice.
